The CPA on Fire team has been amazing! I've used them for the past several years, and they have been super helpful and saved me a lot in taxes. They helped me navigate selling my startup and all the tax implications that come with that. They also helped me reply to the IRS when I got an audit notice. Honestly, they've been great! I'm really glad I found them and started working with them.

Horrible I am leaving this review so other business owners do not experience what I did. I hired CPA On Fire after months of conversations with Andrew Hawkins, CPA, during which he repeatedly represented that his firm specialized in e-commerce / Shopify accounting, provided CPA-level oversight, and would deliver accurate quarterly financials. I was extremely clear about my Shopify-based business and my past issues with outdated accounting that does not work for e-commerce. I was explicitly told that if I paid more, my accounting would be handled in-house rather than outsourced. Based on that assurance, I agreed to the higher-priced option. That was false. Without my knowledge or consent, my accounting was effectively handed off to a completely separate company, Orchard Accounting, a firm I never agreed to hire. Communication was minimal to nonexistent, questions went unanswered, and the work was shockingly poor. I later confirmed that none of the people actually working on my books were CPAs, despite the firm being called CPA On Fire and CPA oversight being a core reason I hired them. Most alarming: my Shopify account was never meaningfully reviewed or reconciled. They never even once logged in and I shared those records with them. There was no proper Shopify–QuickBooks integration, no reliable gross-to-net reconciliation, and no accurate handling of revenue, refunds, fees, shipping, subscriptions, inventory, or loans. As a result, none of the numbers in my financials matched my actual Shopify data. Profits were wrong. Monthly results were wrong. Entire categories were misclassified. When I uploaded documentation and raised specific, factual errors, my emails were ignored. Reports were quietly changed after the fact and then dismissed as “drafts” only after I pointed out how wrong they were. Andrew himself never once reviewed my books. When I asked detailed questions, it was clear he was unfamiliar with them — despite being the only licensed CPA involved and despite CPA oversight being explicitly promised. The damage was real and costly: • Inaccurate books for 2024 and 2025 • Missed or mishandled sales tax filings resulting in late fees • Tax filings I no longer trust because they were based on faulty accounting • Thousands of dollars in additional cleanup costs I now have to pay another professional to fix • Enormous wasted time and stress Only after escalation did Andrew verbally acknowledge the accounting work was unacceptable — and even then, he later backtracked in writing. A partial refund was eventually issued, but it does not come close to covering the damage. The speed with which a refund was offered speaks for itself. If Andrew had been honest and simply said, “We don’t actually do modern e-commerce accounting,” I would never have hired this firm and would have avoided all of this entirely. Instead, I was sold a story that did not match reality. Andrew was persistent during the sales process. Unfortunately, when it came time to deliver, there was no accountability, no expertise, and no follow-through. I would never recommend CPA On Fire or Orchard Accounting, especially to any e-commerce or Shopify-based business. Do not assume CPA oversight just because it’s in the company name. They flat out lied to me. I have all the transcripts from our calls of promises of what they were supposed to deliver. This experience was deeply disappointing and costly, and I hope this review prevents someone else from going through the same thing.
