The Most Reviewed Accountants and Bookkeepers on Sam's List in 2026
Sam's List Editorial | 2026-08-13
Review count measures exactly one thing: how many clients stayed long enough, and cared enough, to write something down. That is a narrower signal than most directories pretend. It is also a signal a firm cannot write for itself, which is more than can be said for most of what you will read about an accountant.
So here are the most reviewed accountants and bookkeepers on Sam's List in 2026, ordered by verified review count as of the dates shown, with what each firm actually does and who it fits. At the end there is a short section on what these numbers do not tell you, because a list like this is only useful if it is honest about its own limits.
How We Ranked These Firms
Read this before the list, because the pool matters as much as the order.
The pool. Every firm below is a paying Sam's List partner firm. The pool for this page is the set of accounting, bookkeeping, and fractional CFO partner firms whose live profile figures we verify and track on a recurring schedule, so this is a ranking of that partner set and not a claim about every professional listed on the platform. Some professionals on Sam's List with more reviews than the firms below may not appear here, because they are not in the tracked partner set.
The order. Within that pool, ordering is strictly by verified client review count on each firm's live Sam's List profile as of the date shown next to it. Where counts tie, firms are listed alphabetically. Order is not sold, and no firm paid a fee to be considered for or included in the review figures cited here.
What payment does and does not affect. Partner firms pay Sam's List for a directory listing. That membership, and its tier, affects how often a firm appears across our editorial pages. It does not affect position in this ranking, it does not affect the review counts, and it does not let a firm remove a review. Sam's List states publicly that it charges no referral fees, that reviewers must authenticate through a third-party account such as LinkedIn, Google, or Twitter, that anonymous reviews are not permitted, and that firms cannot delete negative reviews or manipulate their ratings.
What "vetted" means. Sam's List states that it reviews a professional's credentials and confirms they are actively practicing before listing them. That is a screening step, not an assessment of the quality of anyone's advice.
Counts change as new reviews come in, so treat the as-of date as part of the number. Review counts reflect the experiences of individual clients, are not endorsements by Sam's List, and are not indicative of future results. This list covers accountants, bookkeepers, and fractional CFOs only. Confirm any firm's credentials, licensing, and fit before you engage.
1. 8 Figure Finance
8 Figure Finance is a Philadelphia firm founded in 2024 that works with small business owners, VC-backed startups, real estate investors, and solopreneurs across accounting and fractional CFO work.
Among the firms on this page, 8 Figure Finance carries the highest verified review count. 8 Figure Finance has 33 verified client reviews on Sam's List as of 2026-08-06. Each review is submitted by an individual who identifies as a client of the firm and rates it on communication, subject-matter knowledge, and overall satisfaction. Reviews reflect those individual experiences, do not represent an endorsement by Sam's List, and are not indicative of future results.
Building that many verified reviews in a short time says something specific: a lot of clients came through, and a lot of them were willing to go on record. What it does not say is whether the firm is right for you. A young firm growing fast is usually excellent at the work it does most often and thinner outside it, so ask directly how many clients they have in your industry and at your revenue level.
2. Good Operator
Good Operator is a West Hollywood firm founded in 2017 that offers full-stack accounting, business intelligence, and fractional CFO support, with a stated focus on how owners actually run cash.
Good Operator has 31 verified client reviews on Sam's List as of 2026-08-06. Each review is submitted by an individual who identifies as a client of the firm and rates it on communication, subject-matter knowledge, and overall satisfaction. Reviews reflect those individual experiences, do not represent an endorsement by Sam's List, and are not indicative of future results.
The firm's own framing is operator-first rather than compliance-first, which is useful if you want your numbers to drive weekly decisions instead of just satisfying a filing deadline. The trade-off is scope: if you need a single annual return and nothing else, this is more capability than the job requires, and you will pay for capability you do not use.
3. Doug Johnson CPA
Doug Johnson CPA is a Los Angeles boutique CPA firm founded in 2024, serving growing businesses and high earners with accounting, bookkeeping, tax planning, and fractional CFO support.
Doug Johnson CPA has 15 verified client reviews on Sam's List as of 2026-08-27. Each review reflects an individual client experience, does not represent an endorsement by Sam's List, and is not indicative of future results.
Doug Johnson CPA and Steady Co both have 15 verified reviews in the current data, so the tie is ordered alphabetically, consistent with this page's ranking rule. Doug's stated business focus is on growing companies roughly in the $250K to $10M revenue range, with a strong emphasis on responsiveness, monthly close, and year-round tax planning.
4. Steady Co
Steady Co is based in Vineyard, Utah, founded in 2024, and works with small business owners, real estate investors, solopreneurs, and high net worth individuals.
Steady Co has 15 verified client reviews on Sam's List as of 2026-08-12. Each review is submitted by an individual who identifies as a client of the firm and rates it on communication, subject-matter knowledge, and overall satisfaction. Reviews reflect those individual experiences, do not represent an endorsement by Sam's List, and are not indicative of future results.
A 2024 founding date next to a count in the mid-teens tells you the firm has been onboarding steadily rather than coasting on a long back catalogue. That cuts both ways. Growing practices are responsive and hungry; they can also be stretched. Ask who specifically will handle your account and what their current client load looks like.
5. Iota Finance
Iota Finance works remotely and nationwide, was founded in 2022, and lists small business owners, VC-backed startups, real estate investors, and high net worth individuals among its client types.
Iota Finance has 13 verified client reviews on Sam's List as of 2026-06-26. Each review is submitted by an individual who identifies as a client of the firm and rates it on communication, subject-matter knowledge, and overall satisfaction. Reviews reflect those individual experiences, do not represent an endorsement by Sam's List, and are not indicative of future results.
Remote-first firms live or die on process, because there is no office visit to paper over a slow month-end. The upside is that geography stops mattering, which is useful if you operate in several states. The limitation is the mirror image: a nationwide firm will not know your local city or county filing quirks by instinct, so ask how they handle them.
6. Solopreneur Tax
Solopreneur Tax is based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, founded in 2021, and works with small business owners, solopreneurs, and digital nomads.
Solopreneur Tax has 10 verified client reviews on Sam's List as of 2026-08-06. Each review is submitted by an individual who identifies as a client of the firm and rates it on communication, subject-matter knowledge, and overall satisfaction. Reviews reflect those individual experiences, do not represent an endorsement by Sam's List, and are not indicative of future results.
A firm that names solopreneurs in its own brand is telling you where its pattern recognition lives: single-owner entities, S-corp elections, home office and vehicle questions, multi-state issues for people who move. If you have employees, inventory, or investors, that focus works against you rather than for you.

What Review Count Does Not Tell You
This is the part most directories leave out.
Review count is partly a function of firm age and client volume, not just quality. A ten-year-old boutique that keeps forty long-tenured clients and rarely asks for feedback will show fewer reviews than a two-year-old firm that onboarded two hundred. Neither number is a quality verdict on its own.
It also says nothing about fit. The most reviewed firm on any list can be the wrong choice for you if its client base looks nothing like your business. A construction company with retainage and work-in-progress accounting needs different instincts than a SaaS company with deferred revenue.
And it says nothing about who will actually do your work. In firms of any size, the person who sold you is often not the person reconciling your accounts. Ask.
Read three or four full reviews from clients who resemble you. That is worth more than the total.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does a verified review on Sam's List mean? Sam's List states that every reviewer must authenticate through a third-party account such as LinkedIn, Google, or Twitter before posting, that anonymous reviews are not allowed, and that firms cannot delete negative reviews or manipulate their ratings. Reviews reflect individual client experiences rather than a platform endorsement, and they are not a prediction of the results you will get.
Is the most reviewed accountant the right accountant for me? Not automatically. Review count reflects volume and tenure as much as quality, and it says nothing about industry fit. Compare a firm's stated client types and specialties against your own situation, then read several full reviews from clients who look like you before you shortlist anyone.
How often do these review counts change? Continuously, which is why each count on this page carries an as-of date. New reviews arrive throughout the year and firms move relative to each other, so check the live profile before relying on any number you read here, including ours.
Does paying for a Sam's List listing improve a firm's ranking? It does not affect position here. Every firm on this page is a paying partner, and membership tier does affect how often a firm appears across our editorial pages, which is why this is a ranking of the tracked partner set rather than of the whole platform. Within the page, ordering is by verified review count as of the dates shown, and payment does not buy position, change a count, or allow a review to be removed.
