Sam's List Community: 10 Most Reviewed Fractional CFOs, September 2026

Thirty-three. That is how many client reviews 8 Figure Finance had on Sam's List on September 30, 2026, more than twice any other firm below.

This is our monthly list of the 10 most reviewed fractional CFOs among the 94 firms in the Sam's List community, all vetted Sam's List members, ranked by each profile's review count. A firm needed a rating of 4.0 or higher and at least two reviews to qualify.

A place here is free, and paid features elsewhere on Sam's List play no part in it. Browse fractional CFOs on Sam's List. A review count is a starting point, not a measure of quality. How we picked, at the end, explains why.

Ratings and review counts are as shown on each firm's Sam's List profile on September 30, 2026. Each review is submitted by an individual who identifies as a client of the firm, and reviews reflect those individual experiences; they are not an endorsement by Sam's List. No firm paid to be considered for or included in this list. Ratings and rankings are not indicative of future performance or results.

The list

Each entry uses only what the firm's Sam's List profile showed on September 30, 2026: the state it serves, the specialties it names, its tagline, its rating and review count, and at most one quote from a reviewer who identifies as a client, shown exactly as on the profile, with an ellipsis where the site shortens a long review. Specialties and taglines are the firms' own claims, so confirm them on a first call.

1. 8 Figure Finance

8 Figure Finance describes itself as an accounting and CFO firm built for advertising and marketing agencies, with clean books and clear reporting. Its profile says it serves Pennsylvania and names content creators, digital nomads and high net worth individuals among its specialties.

Thirty-three is a count of reviews, not of clients, and it says nothing about the depth of the CFO work, so ask for a reference from an agency like yours. See 8 Figure Finance on Sam's List

Frequently Asked Questions

How often is this list updated?

Every month. A new edition publishes on the first Monday of each month and is named for the month before. From the October 2026 edition on, the lists rank firms by the reviews they gained since the previous edition's data date, and each edition states the dates it covers.

Can firms pay to be included?

No. Listing on Sam's List is free, and so is a place on this list, which is ranked only by reviews. Some firms pay to be featured elsewhere on Sam's List; that has no effect on who appears here or in what order.

Does a high review count mean a fractional CFO is a good fit?

No. A review count measures how many reviews clients took the time to write on Sam's List. It does not measure technical skill, the depth of the CFO work, or fit with your company, and a newer firm may have fewer reviews simply because it has had less time to collect them. Use the count to build a shortlist, then compare scope and references.

What does a fractional CFO do?

A fractional CFO does chief financial officer work for a company part time or on a defined scope, instead of as a full-time hire. The scope varies: several firms on this list describe accounting, bookkeeping, tax or payroll work alongside CFO services in their taglines. Ask each firm what a typical engagement includes before you compare them side by side.

How we picked the most reviewed fractional CFOs

The pool. These lists rank the 94 firms in the Sam's List community, 27 of them fractional CFOs, all vetted Sam's List members with a live public profile. Sam's List also lists firms outside the community, and these lists do not rank them, so this is not a ranking of every fractional CFO on Sam's List.

The thresholds. A firm needed a rating of 4.0 or higher and at least two reviews on September 30, 2026. Twelve of the 27 qualified.

The order. Firms are ranked by the total review count each profile showed on September 30, 2026, then by rating, then alphabetically by name. Counts include every review each profile showed on September 30, 2026, whenever it was posted. Doug Johnson CPA sits above Steady Co on name, since both show 15 reviews and a 5.0. A tie decided the last two places the same way: four qualifying firms showed two reviews and a 5.0, and alphabetical order put Certified Exit Planners and Green Canyon CFO on the list.

What the numbers mean. Fractional CFO reviews on Sam's List are submitted by individuals who identify as clients of the firm and rate it on communication, subject-matter knowledge, and overall satisfaction. A count shows how many reviews clients wrote, not how many clients a firm has; it does not measure technical quality or fit, and it can lag for a firm newer to Sam's List.

Payment. Listing on Sam's List is free, and so is a place on this list. Some firms pay to be featured elsewhere on Sam's List, Doug Johnson CPA and Iota Finance among those on this list, and that has no effect on who appears here or in what order.
